PROPOSED TOWN HALL
a The Finance Committee of the City Council report that in accordance ivith instructions they have, with Cr Douglas, considered the proposal for the erection of a Town Hall. In their opinion, the sum required for the work will require to ha raised by wav of loan, which would necessitate the taking of a poll of the ratepavers on the proposal. It would be first neccsearv, however, to revise the original ' estimates for the building and equipment, i as the cost of building to-day was con- j siderably advanced. They will report on I j this aspect of the question at the earliest I possible date. ' I
