A proclamation repeals the price-fixinfl» regulation with regard to a number of commodities, which include bread, infants' food, condensed milk, and tobacco. BIG PRICES FOR SHORTHORNS. Penrith (Wales) had a great shorthorct cattle week in October, and animals I changed hands at remarkable prices. One • vendor obtained an average of £147 15s 5d for 49 animals, and another an average of £333 13s lOd for 39 heifers, the top price being 875gs. Altogether £42,000 was paid for pedig-rea shorthorn stock &ar-y ing the week. The 'Penrith Obatrver' i says that all local records were broken, as well as these for the North of England. Tho attendance was very lar»e, and included representatives from all porta of the United Kingdom.
