SCHOOL COMMITTEE
4i The monthly meeting of the Forbnry Committee was held on Monday night, Mr C. A. Lucas in the chair, and the following other members being present: —Messrs G. Brooks, W. Fleming, P. Johnson, S. Smith, A. Poulter, A. A. Campbell, and J. Roberts. The head master reported the average attendance for past month: Februarv 14, average 702, Standard VI., with 99 per cent,; February 21, average 707, Standard 11., with 98.4 per cent. ; February 28, average 705, Standard IV., with 99.1 per cent. ; March 7, average 703, Standard 11., with 99 per cent, The present roll number is 730. The amount paid into bank for the four weeks is £26 17s 7d, and the withdrawals £8 10s lOd, leaving a balance of £l7O lis in the bank. Th« pupils of the school Bold £8 9s worth of tickets for the garden fete in connection with the. children's convalescemit home, and the band were at the fete. Mr Eg(?le-» ton, having been discharged from the Expeditionary Force, resumed duty on March 3. The Band Committee reported that the band would be entertained by a picnic at Portobello on Saturday next, and also m evening in the gymnasium on the same day. Mr Poulter reported visiting the school during the past month ,and Mr Johnson reported attending the School Committees' Association meeting.
