(Received March 12, at 11.20 a.m.) Giving evidence before Mr Justice Sankey's .Commission on the Goal Industry, Mi- Red.rn.iin, inspector of mines, estimated that the granting of a six-hour day would result in a 21 per cent, loss m output He advocated delay in the reduction of hours for two years in order to devise mitigatory measures. He condemned individual ownership of coal mines as. wasteful and advocated collective production.
