Colonel Donald M'Gavin, DvS.O., will ! succeed General Henderson as Director of Medical Services in New Zealand. Colonel M'G-avin, who was one of the best-known surgeons in Wellington, left this country in command of the No. 1 Stationary Hospital in 1915, and is still at Home. Alderman R. W. Richards has been elected Lord Mayor of Sydney, vice the late Alderman English. Mr Richards was Town Clerk of Dunedin from the end ot 1905 until early in 1911, when he returned to Sydney. He was elected an alderman of Svdnoy shortly after settling again in that city. This is the third time that he has been called to the mayoral chair. Before going into camp Mr Rattle was managing partner here in the Arm of Bray Bros. Ho was a member of the executive of the Second Division League, and worked energetically for that body. Last night Mr Pattle was entertained by members of the B Battery Second Division Training Class, who took advantage of the opportunity to make him a presentation.
