DRIVERS CONFER AGAIN
PROCEEDINGS IN CAMERA.

The second conference in reference to the drivers’ dispute, which opened in 'Wellington to-day, ie exciting much interest, the meeting being representative of employers and drivers’ unions from all over New Zealand. The men are asking for substantial increases in wages and greatly improved working conditions. The first conference in November last proved abortive. The employers offered to increase the wages, bat were disinclined to alter any of the existing conditions. The offer was placed before the individual unions and was rejected. > The dispute was then referred to the Transport Workers’ Federation, at whose suggestion a second conference was convened.
