BIG FIRE IN SYDNEY

SYDNEY, December 21. (Received December 21, at 9.50 a.m.)
A serious fire is raging in George street, in the, heart of the shopping centre. It appears to involve the Crown Studios, tho Roberts Hotel, and portion of Farmers’ Drapery Stores. (Received December 21 at 10.15 a.m.)
The fire last night gutted the Crown Studios and damaged Farmers’ Stores and five other shops and tho Roberts Hotel. The damage is roughlv estimated at £150,000.
Apparently tbo fire started in tho Crown Studios, and, aided by a strong wind, it ouicldy spread. At one time it looked as if tho'wholo block would be destroyed. Tho cause of the outbreak is unknown.
