At Auckland yesterday Ernest M'Kenzie pleaded not aiiilty, and was committed for •trial, on a charge of attempting to obtain £7O from the Railway Department bv claiming, through a solicitor, for a cycle wrongfully alleged to have been lost in transit. The case for the prosecution is to the effect that the cycle had been eon signed from Raetihi" Co Auckland aid chert"d. being obtained at Auckland without giving up the check ticket. Five men accused of committing btirguaries and one charged with " receiving " were remanded at Auckland vesterduy till to-morrow week.
