The Hon. G. W. RnsseJl, Minister of Internal Affairs-, referring to the appointment of a totalisatoT inspector, made an announcement regarding odd money over dividends, which during the four days' racing of Grand National Week amounted, to £'B4l. The Minister said that this monoy did not- Ire-long to the clubs, ; ; .nd should be returned to the public. Ha would not object if it were handed to patriotic oTeanisations during tiie war. but later on he would endeavor to secure it. for the benefit of hospitals and to assist the country's poor.
At a recent unregistered meeting held at Rosebcry (New South Wales) the winner of the last event was unbacked on the totalisator. and those who held ticket received Bs 9d for each 10s ticket.
