MORNINGTON SCHOOL BAND
A most euecesr.ful concert was held in St. Mary's Hall, Mornington, last evening, in nid of tho Public, School Fife and Drum Band. Tho building: was filled to overflowing. Mr J- W. Pa-tton occupied the chair, and (ifter thanking the andienre for their continued support to the baud intimated that- us a, result of the entertainment the band (who are now- fully equipped in every detail) would bo entirely free of debt'. The chairman apologised for the absence of Mr W. Davidson (he.d master) and Mr H. D. Campbell (bandmaster).
Tho programme consisted of part songs and drill by the scholars of tho school, and the following -also assisted:—Mi«s K.. MTallum, Piasters R. and W. Twoes, Messrs R. James, A. J. Downing, Miss Stubbs, Mr S. H. Osborn, and a humorous sketch, entitled ' Cohen Joins the Army,' by Messrs T. Harvey and B. Vivian j and selections by the band. Mr L. C. Storey acted as accompanist in a. very efficient manner. Mr J. Hope, on behalf of the committee, proposed a vote of. thanks to tho per formers , which, Tpas carried, by acriama.iion.
