The King's colors consisted of a silk Union Jack. Every re<"iment in the British Army, with the exception of the Bine Bri-ade. had two colors—the King's- and the regimental coh.vs^—a survival o ; the ancient custom of takinz a standard into action and rising it as a"rsllying-point for the regiment. The possession of th? King's colors could in no sense bo called an award.
