PETROL SUPPLIES
GOVERNMENT TAKE CONTROL.

WELLINGTON, July 9. Owing to the unsatisfactory position in regard to the distribution of petrol tho Government have found it necessary to assume control over its importation, sale, and distribution. The Board of Trade, who investigated tho subject at the Government's request, have prepared regulations to govern the distribution. Maximum retail prices for the different centres have been fixed.
