At a, meeting of the Canterbury Rugby Union last night a letter was read from the Otngo Union agreeing to send a, representative team to meet Canterbury at L'hristchurch on July 87, and suggesting that Canterbury play a return match in Dunediu on September 7. The itftter contained a request that the Canterbury Union should not entertain the southern visitors in Christehurch, as, under the war conditions, Otago did not think it advisable that any money should be expended in entertaining teams, and Otago. did not propose to entertain any visiting teams. It was decided that July 27 bo confirmed as the date of the match, the date of the return match to be left in the hands of the secretary.
