In keeping with the spirit of tho request that to-morrow {'Thursday) shall bo observed as a day for prayer and special war intercessory services, tho directors of the Dunedin fowling Club have decided to close tho green for play on that day. A P.A. message from Wellington states that a. ship’s fireman, named K. LindistTom, was ktiockcd down by a tramoar last evening, suFtaming extensive injuries to his head and face. Ho died in the Hospital early this morning. The monthly meeting of tho Robert Eramet branch of the Hacribnd Irish Society was hold last evening, Mr J. T. Sullivan presiding.
