The Methodist Women's Missionary Union Conference continued their sitting yesterday afternoon, Mrs E. Rosevear presiding. -'V paper, written by .Mrs M. R, Gilmour, on ' Work Among the Women and Girls of New Guinea,' was read bv .Miss D. Rosevear. One of the main features of the paper was the work of tho sisters, who nurse the sick, care for the dving, and use every opportunity to teaciY the love of God to them. The sisters win tho love of the women, and gain their confidence. As few white workers can stand the climate for any length of time, tliev aim to train tho Papuans themselves as Christian workers. At present there are nnlv three sisters at work m Papua, while "their full staff should be seven.

. Mrs Don and Mrs Cowio were received as a deputation from the W.C.T.U., asking for help from the Union in the' coming campaign for National Prohibition. A paper by Mr Small on 'Educational Work in Fiji,' and one by Mrs Berry on ' How Best- we can Help' Missions,' were read. During the afternoon solos were given by Misses West and Pridham.

The conference resumed this morning. A paper on ' Mission Work Among the Maoris' was read by Miss Carr. of Auckland.

The next business was a discussion on a resolution proposed by Mrs Bowron "That the next conference be held at Blenheim in November, 1919, instead of November, 1918. The proposal was discussed at some length, and was then carried.
