UNION FOOTBALL CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING. The 47th annual meeting of the Union Football Club was held last evening in the North Ground Pavilion. Mr H. H. S. White (vice-president) occupied the chair, and there was a good attendance of members. The Chairman moved the adoption of the annual report, and, in doing so, referred to the large number of members who had gone to the front—about 170, -17 of whom had been killed. He hoped the members would stick together, and keep the club going until the boys returned. He was pleased- to see the club in such a good financial position. The motion' was seconded by Mr D. Munro, and carried. The election of office-hearers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: President, Mr J. Hope; vice-presidents, Messrs H. H. A. White, H. Harris, W* Beadle, Dr Fitzgerald; club captain, Mr J. Robson ; honorary treasurer, Mr T. Devine; secretary, Mr W. Stiglich; assistant secretary, Mr R. Morris; general committee. Messrs P. Ait-ken, A. Ait-ken, N. Cameron, H.-, Gilliam. H. Smith, 0. Knox; auditors, Messrs H. IT. S. White and W. Beadle; delegates to 0.R.F.U., Messrs H. H. S. White, J Robson, and W Stiglich; temporary match committee, Messrs J. Robson, N. Cameron, and O. Knox. .It was resolved to hold the first practice match on March 16. The secretary was instructed to write to the parents of Mr H. Armour, congratulating them on the distinction won bv their son at the front. As the caps presented by Mr Hope for the best back and forward players in the senior team for the past season were not ready, the secretary was instructed to forward them to the successful winners when ready. . The caps were won by Messrs N. Cameron (back) and 0. Knox (forward). Aheavtv vote of thanks was oassed to the O.R.F'.U., the Press, Referees' Association, and Mr C. Bird, for the use of tho room for committee purposes, and to the chairman. It was decided to write to the Milton Club, asking that body to arrange a match to be played at Milton at Easter.
