The venture proved an unqualified success in every ' way ■Through .he generosity of friends, who gave donations, and the enerev of <J». various stallholders, the church benefited to the extent of £37. The main object of the bazaar was to wipe off the deficiency on the debt incurred recentlv of renovating the church and installing Electee light The Rev. S. Griffith (paftor of the church) introduced the Mayor (Mr H E. Moller), who first of all feelingly referred to the death of Dr Bedford and then, in a short speech, declared the bazaar open. The various stalls "were presided over bv Mrs M Farlane and Mrs Milnes (work atoll), Mrs Leach and Mrs Gerry (cake stall),"' Messrs Petne, Olliver, and Brice (produce stall). Misses King and Milnes (lolly stall), Mrs Petne, Mrs Cooper, anS Mrs Brill (drinks and ice cream), Mrs Olliver and Mrs Major (refreshment stall), Mrs Cliristensen and Mr Ingstram (dips), Mr F. Gerry and Alf. Heatherington (jumble) Mr. Major (competitions). The baking competition (judged by Mrs Gilkinsonf resulted as follows:—Best sponge sandwich: Arthur Milnes 1, Mrs Leach, sen., 2. Oven scones: Mrs M'Farlane 1 Mrs Leach fun., 2. Small cakes : Mrs Duncan. Pikeets x Mrs Leach, jun., 1, Mrs M'Farlane 2.2 Gingerbread: Mrs Young 1, Mrs T Baird 2. The Druids' Hall, in which the bazaar was held, was beautifully decorated by a number'of willing workers, under the supervision of Mr Milnes and Mr Brill.
