A SHORTAGE OF SHIPS. ■ . The Prime Minister (Mr Massey) made the following statement at Wellington yesterday regarding the shipping °aup"l am sorry to say that the outlook is not nearly so good as it was six weeks or two months ago. Fortunately, in January and up till the present in this month the supply of shipping has been good and we have very greatly reduced our stocks ot irozen meat and our dairy produce in the different cold stores throughout the •Dominion. I think even now that there will be no serious difficulty so far as. frozen meat and cheese are concerned. The difficulty I am afraid, will be with the wool, flax, tallow, and other commodities which are very often considered to be of minor importance, but which in the aggregate are of importance to the Dominion as a whole I hope the trouble will not last very long but it is as well for the public to know that fpr the next sis -weeks or two months the supply of shipping, especially for the articles I have mentioned, will not be so good as it has been since tho commencement of the year. The Government will continue to do everything thev possibly can to ease the position."
