(Received February 19, at 10.5 a.m.) The Premier (Mr Ryan), in the course of a policy speech at Towr.sville, said that the Queensland Government had reserved 3,684,4p2 acres of land, capable of settling 16,000 returned soldiiVs. A fruit-canning factory would be established at a cost of £40,000. The Government also proposed to establish a State line of steamships. Arrangements had been made to test tho salt pans along the coast with a view to producing salt locally. NEW SOUTH- WALES. COAL OUTPUT. SYDNEY, February 19. The coal and shale output for 1917 tot ailed 8,292,767 tons—ar. increase of 159,706 tons as compared with the previous year.
