The meeting further Tesolved that a committee consisting of Messrs J. Stevenson, J. M'Lachlan, W. Wilson, the Women's Patriotic Committee, and the Red Cross Committee be empowered to canvass for subscriptions, the Mayor to be the convener of the committee. In reply to a question, His Worship said he knew that many of those concerned in Y.M.C.A. woTk gave voluntary service, arid ho did not know of any officers receiving high salaries, but he would ascertain whether such was the case. \
