( RUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE. Considerable activity was displayed on tho share market this morning, and a good turnover of business resulted. HuddartPa.rker shares again attracted most attention. This stock showed another sharp rise, and numerous sales were effected at the first call from £1 16s 4d to £1 15s 6d. Hie market closed firm with further buyers at £1 1f, 5 6cl. and sellea's at £1 16s *9d. The preference issue of tlie.se shares were in goad demand at, £l'os 6d, with sellers at £1 Os lid. Westport Coals were on the market at £1 lis, with 'buyers a-t £1 10s 3d, whilst ordinary Wcstport-Stocktons had buyers at 8s 9d and sellers at 9s Id. National Insurances were firm at £2 19s 6d and £3 Is, buyer ;uul selier. New Zealand Paper Mills wore wanted at lgs 3d, without any selling quotations. In the mining section of the market Mount Lyells also had a good turnover of business at £1 Is Bd. The market closed with these shares still in demand at £1 9s 7d, and sellers asking Id move. Talisman Cousoiidateds were soujrht- at 9s Bd, but sellers were a-sl.in- 10s 6rl, Rise and Chines had sellers at £1 C,s 6tl. and Rising Suns at 15s, but, there was no apparent demand for either line.
