SOUTHERN RUSSIA.
DON COSSACKS' VICTORY. FIGHTING IN KIEFF. PETROQRAD, February 17. It is reported that General 'Alexiefi's army has won a battle in the vicinity of ■\yioro«eslii (in the Don Valley, about midway between Moscow. and the Sea of Azov), which is now surrounded by CosBacks, and is expected to fall shortly. The battle resulted in 3,000 'being killed or wounded cm both sides. Street fighting is reported at Kieff (capital of the Ukraine), -where the White Guards dislodged the Red Guards from ; the arsenal, killing over 1,500 workmen. •The Kieff Revolutionary Committee were shot en masse. Tho Soviet deputies' forces, comprising Ukrainian'and Bolshevik ■.regiments, are now attacking the White buards, who are encamped in the Petshovk monastery.
