Sir Douglas Haig reports: The enemy made a strong local attack against positions on the Hindenburg line eastward of BullbcoutL A small party occupied a sap before a front trench. the enemy were repulsed on the remainder of the front before reaching the positions. Air fighting is mostly confined to the northern portion of the front, whore we brought down eight and drove down two machines. Five of ours are mrissing. We bombed last night factories, railway communications, and other targets of military importance at Maizieres-les-Metz. All the machines returned.
