Henry Sliozberg, has just been appointed by the new Government as vice-governor of the provinces of Galicia and Bukowina, which , are now occupied by the Russians. These territories have very large Jewish populations. M. Henry Sliozberg is chairman of the Jewish Relief Committee in Petrograd. He is nationally known as an authority on Russian law. He was the legal adviser in Russia of the New York Life Insurance Company. For the last 27 years he has been a social worker among the Russian Jews, and figured prominently as one of their chief defenders after the KishinelT massacres.
