To soar over the North Pole in a hydro, aeroplane (save a New York despatch of November 27 in tile San Francisco ' Chronicle') is- the ambition of Roald Amundsen, the Norwegian explorer, who a few years ago attained the South Pole. Captain Amundsen arrived here to-day from Copenhagen to purchase two hydro-aeroplanes for that purpose. Starting in the summer of 1918. he said he experts to he. in tlio Far North from two to live years. Thu main object of his flight.
