Writing Tour London, Lieutenant A. J. Naylor, R.N., well known in New Zealand as chief officer of the Komata and other Union Company's ships, states that he is enjoying the best of health, and has been posted as lieutenant to a vessel of the Dreadnought class. A London cable announce? the death at the age of 78 of the Very Rev. William Darker, Dean of Carlisle (who was chaplain to Queen Victoria from 1576 fo her death). Hr Wm. Japps, secretary of the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney, is visiting New Zealand (or the purpose of making inquiries into thq management of hospitals generally, and with particular reference to the treatment of sick and wounded soldiers.
