[Per United Press Association.] The annual meeting of the Now Zealand Institute was presided over hv Professor .Bonham It was stated that the .Minister of Internal Jiff airs had agreed that the vote of £250 for tho encouragement of scientific research should 1© entrusted for expenditure to tho institute; also that the question of granting relief in the Government Printer's account was receiving the' Government's attention. The President, in bis address, said it seemed to him that the institute should takey a. much more active part in urging the importance of better training in scientific . rncJiods in the secondary schools, caul in urging on the industrial community the need for scientific organisation and cooperation. It was to the institute that the Government sho-hl be induced to timn for advice and as.sirt.ar.ee on anv matter in wlnrii science was involved. "The matter oi scientific aiforo.sf.it ion was one that demanded immediate attention. Regret was expressed that tho erection of the now museum ha-d been postponed.
