The quarterly meeting of the Royal Arch Chapter was held on October 27 in the Ivanhoo lodge room, R.A.D. Bro. Jacobson presiding over an unusually small meeting. G.P. Bro. Harland and G.V.P. Bro. Dove attended officially, and tho G.P. installed the following officers 'R.A.D., Bro. B. Reid; P.D.P., R v'l Bro. A. E. Churchill, D.P.; R.A. Sec ' Bro. D. Y. M. Millar, P.R.A.; R.A Trea-s., Bro. H. G. Ford. P.D.P • R.A.G., Bro. E. L. Birt, P.D P • R.A.0.G., Bro. C. Beazley, P.D.P.; R.A. Bards, Bros. Fleming and Barr; R.V.A. Bards, Bros. Borrow and Saunders. Notification was received from the Board of Management ratifying the amendments of laws carried at the annual meeting. One brother was granted the A.D. and P.A. degrees. The chapter received an invitation to attend the memorial church parade, and decided to attend officially. A.D. Bro. A. R, Morrison .presided oyer the last meeting of Linden Lodge. The secretary announced the death of two brothers at the front—Bro. R. W. Cherrie (killed in action) and Bro. G. Blacklock (died from wounds). Votes of sympathy with tho relatives were passed, the lodge reversing regalia out of respect to the departed brethren. One candidate was initiated on behalf of Ivanhoe Lodge, who were represented officially bv their chief officers. On behalf of thelodg'e P.D.P. Bro. Wilkinson presented a P.A. collar to P.a! Bro ; V. H. Freeman as a token of respect and" appreciation of the services rendered in the chairs of the lodge. Bro. Freeman returned thanks }n a suitable manner. Arrangements were made for tho annual children's evening. The soldiers' toast at 9 p.m. was solemnly and respectfully honored. Committee reports re memorial church parade and balance-sheet of tho Larnach presensation were received with appreciation. The fortnightly meeting of the Ivanhoo Lodge was held on Monday evening, when A.D. Bro. G. B. Laing was greeted with a lair attendance of members. D.P. Bro. Grant paid an official visit, and a large amount of correspondence was dealt with The bards reported on the sick brethren, and sick pay to the amount of £l4 was passed. Bro. J. Haymes, jun., was appointed acting treasurer. Tho loval toasts were responded to by D.P. Bro. Grant. A vote of sympathy with Mr Jas. Macfie was passed, aud the secretary was inI structed.to forward a letter of condolence I in reference to the death of Mr Macfie's son.
