MELBOURNE, September 28. Owing to the floods there is little hope of the levels (Pweir) on the "lower Goulburn standing against the tremendous volume of water in the- Goulburn River. When its goes at least 150,000 acres will be inundated. All the townships on the Lower Goulburn are wholly or partly under water. One of Mr Chinonck's sons was found 18 hours latci- in a tree. His little sister was with him shortly before his rescue, but she fell into the river and was drowned.
[The Goulburn is the chief stream used for irrigation purposes iu Victoria, and a splendid weir has been built near Nagambie. The New South Wales Legislative Assembly considered the Election Amendment Bill, and submitted the Clerk of the Legislative Assembly to distribute soldiers' votes, in place of the party leaders and Mr Speaker. A.J;C. DONATIONS. SYDNEY, September 28. The Australian Jockey Club havo allocated £9,310 to charities and other funds, including £o,ooo to the soldiers' repatriation fund.
