MILITARY HOSPITALS

THE SICKNESS OUTBREAK.

[Special to tuv, ' Star.']

WELLINGTON. August 17. Seven eases in the military hospitals out of about 400 patients arc classed as serious to-day, but your correspondent was informed by the medical authorities that they still regard the situation confidently. The prompt measures taken at Trentham appear to ha.ve stayed the spread of meningitis, while the improved weather has checked pneumonia.
