THE ROLL OF HONOR
PRIVATE W. E. BROWNE, Who was killed in action in Franco on the 14th ult., was a native of Lawrence, being the eldest son of Mv E. C. Browne (of the firm of Browne Bros). He was in his 23rd year, and saw service at Gallipoli, where ho had an attack of illness, and was invalided to England. On recovering ho rejoined his unit, and was aftei'wards"sont to France. The deceased was a bright, cheerful, and intelligent young fellow. was educated at the Lawrence District High School, and at the time of joining the Expeditionary Force was in tho ser° vice, as a draper, of tho D.LC. in Dunedin.
