LODGE MEETINGS

] Owing to a motor accident, resulting in a orosen collar-bone, N.G Bro \ G Ar thur will be laid aside for a 'time. ' His p.ace was filled in the Loyul Valley Lodge, Ji.U on Monday evening by P.G. Bro. T Henderson. Bro. Sewell (Prince of Wales). oc-mg over age, was unable to obtain a clearance, but applied to the lodge for permission to take office, and was unanimously elected to the vacant position of warden. i.i.d.M. Bro. Palmer and P.G. Bro. Hutton were appointed as the lodge's representatives on the committee for visiting soldier brethren in the Hospital. The Loyal Dalton Lodge, M.U., held their meeting on Tuesday evening. N.G. Bro. R. Angus was m the chair. There was a good muster ot members. The lodge was in mounnng for the late Bro. W. MTntyre, and a tetter of sympathy was forwarded' to Jirs M'lntyre. A good deal of correspondence was dealt with. A letter of recommendation was granted to a brother, and one was received from the Hand and Jleart ljod-e. Three candidates were initiated into the Order and four others proposed tor membership. The appointment of delegates for next district meeting was held over. _ A meeting was held on Wednesday evening by the Hope of Duncdin The chair was occupied by C.T. Bro PlHan who extended a hearty welcome to the visi-t-ore, to which Bro. Allpress responded. The delegates' report of the annual meeting of :ae United Temperance Reform Council was given. The syllabus for the new quarter wn-< submitted, and after being considered seriatim was approved. The programme for the evening was "Sing, Recite, or Pay 3d." Only four paid the forfeit, ail the ethers giving a selection of songs, recitations, or musical items. The "surprise packet" was selections on the piccolo by a sister, who Save four items, she was awarded a round ot applause. Votes of thanks were accorded ad tnose who had contributed to the programme.
