Regarding the delayed handicaps for the Tuapeka and Beaumont meetings, the 'Tuapeka, Times' of to-day says V The handbapper appointed bv 'the 'Tuapeka and Beaumont .loekey Clubs (Mr A. •Jones, of Wintou) having, for some unexplained reason, failed to fulfil his engagement, the officials of both clubs, after waiting till Wednesday evening in the hopes that his handicaps (which were announced to appear on Saturday, Bth inst.) would turn up, had, in lhe 'interests of their respective clubs, and to keep faith with horse owners, to Crke things into theirown hands and arrange for another handicappcr. Thev were fortunate in obtaining the services of Mr 11. J. Gourley, of Dunediu, who undertook the work under many disadvantages at a. moment's notice, and was able to arrange the weights for both the galloping and trotting events.

The latest report is that RorkeV Driftwill be a starter in the. Rivertou Cup on Easter Monday.
