WANGANUI TROTTING MEETING. Tlie Wanganui Autumn Meeting was. brought to a close yesterday. The sum of £22,098 waj passed through the totalisator during the two days, as against £19,397 last year. In the concluding race, Alanscenita fell and brought down Gee Whiz, whose rider (Andy Pringle) received a severe shaking. Watchman, the favorite, won the principal event, the Dominion Handicap. Four other first favorites also prevailed, but the final event on the card, the Farewell Handicap, went to Aotea Boa, who was 14th in order of betting. LFjAGUE CRICKET. Hillside 121 runs defeated Tramways 111 on Saturday. For Hillside Graham (62) was top scorer, as was Paine (41) for the losers. Y.M.C.A. 112 runs defeated Orokonui 90. Thomas .'63) was the main contributor for Y.M.C.A., v,bile Cayford mads 29 for Orokonui. Shacklock? 122 runs defeated Post and Telegraph 55. Bice (45 not out) was Shaddocks' best batsman.
