THE RAILWAYMEN'S DEMANDS
(Special to the ‘Star.’] WELLINGTON, February 29. A full meeting of the Cabinet will probably be held this week, when the railwayrrien’o claims will be considered. The Ministers of Finance ami Railways will be present. Several published statements on this subject have suggested that the Minister of Finance must give the final decision on the demand for increased pay. That suggestion ignores ordinary Cabinet procedure It is for the Minister of Railways to make the recommendation regarding the administration of his own department.
