A LEVEL-HEADED BOS’N, LASCARS BEHAVE WELL. LONDON, February 28. (Received February 29, at-9.15 a.m.) The Maloja’s Lascars stuck to tlieir places, some of them singing while the vessel was sinking. The boatswain, Gough, saved three women by diving with them from the deck and placing them on a raft. It was a lso Gough who tied a baby on a raft (as mentioned in a cable on peso 3). Its mother was saved. ° ' Before her final plunge the Maloja lav on her side, and several officers walked along her side and dived thence into the sea. SURVIVORS AT DOVER. IDENTIFYING THE DEAD. BODIES COMING ASHORE. LONDON, February 28. (Received February 29, at 8.20 a.m.) The Lord Warden, Hotel at Dover is crowded with survivors from the Maloja, They are sleeping i n the passages and the billiard room. When the London train arrived la to on Sunday night there was a great rush for the hotel liy anxious relatives. Two soldiers whoso wives were aboard arrived at the hotel. One found Ms wife there- The . other was unsuccessful, but this morning ho identified her body. . There were heartrending scenes asmiatives were identifying the bodies, which were laid! out in tho’Market Hall, owing to tho inadequate accommodation at tho morgue.
• Torty-seven bodies have been recovered, including those of 11 women, three young children, a baby, 18 men, and 12 Lascars. Many of the deaths were due to the cold immersion.
Two more bodies were washed up this and it is expected that, others vvili be. 'I ho police are searching the beach. *
