PICNIC.

GREATER DUXEDIX CORPORATION. „'f' n ? eleventh annual picnic was held at Wingatm on Saturday. About 600 persons were present, and all seemed to enjov themselves to the fullest extent. TberV was an abundance of toys and races for the children, and the sports for adults attracted many competitors. Messrs Foster and Breen. carried out their duties as iiandicApiiors. and other members, of the committee. lent valuablo assistance, 'i'ho president (Mr D. Wheeler) and' the secretary (Mr F. Foster) were very attentive to their duties. The weather was; all that could be desired.;. The Mayor (Mr Clark) and Crs J. Wilson, I. Green, C. H. Hay-' ward, J. Carroll, J. Limn, W\ A. Scott J. Sltiall, E. Sincock, M. Finnerty, and J. H. Hancock were present. • The High Street School Fife and Drum Band enlivened the proceedings with selections throughout the-day. The committee desire to thank the DuiKdin Jockey Club for the use of'tlio and also Mr and Mrs Crawford for their attention durhv the day.
