IN MESOPOTAMIA.
TOWNSHEND AT KUT. TAKING THINGS QUETLY. LONDON, February 26. Cheery reports come "from Mesopotamia. Artillery fire by day and sniping at night have been continued during the month. A spell of settled weather has set in, though the flood season is due and the melting snows are expected shortly. General Townshend has sent wireless messages that he has ample supplies and is sowing vegetables. He asked for gramophone needles, and these were dropped into camp by aeroplane.
