MINING.
The Rise and Shine No. 1 dredge met with much improved ground on the eastern side of tho cut last week, a good sample of coarse gold having come in on a sandy clay bottom. No 2 dredge worked a cut of 220 ft, making 14ft ahead on a clay bottom. Work was somewhat hampered by a quantity of silt from old ground coming into the paddock.
