First Dat.—Friday. The weather was delightful, and the course just in the condition trainers Eked. The attendance was satisfactory, and included quite a number of visitors fiom a distance. Ellis). Moddite being steadied. Kings way took the lead from Cervulus. Coming to the stand jump Silver Shield joined Cervulus. I’he latter touched the rail at the mile jump and fell away a little; Silver Shield then ran second to Kings way. Mcddile and Grib made up ground in the. back stretch, and lengths away beat all bur Recharge at. the five furlongs, where Crib toll. Moddite closed on the leaders ascending the hill, and was practically leading at the last fence, but Kingsway held Ids own and wot, by half a length from Moddito. who -beat Silver Shield by three lengths. It was a beautiful start, from which Lady Superior momentarily showed in front, but- Winterbourne raced past her and went on with Kilboyno and Disdainful. Madame Butterfly and Disdainful a. couple of lengths away. Disdainful had a. bad berth on the rails, but .she got through after going a- furlong and a-half. ami turning into the straight was two lengths clear of Winterbourne. At the distance Winterbourne seemed to have a chance of catching the filly, but she dashed awav again and won by two lengths, Kilboyno two and a-ha if lengths away third. A beautiful start was effected. Fender was a little slow to move, but Meltchikoff and Palisade jumped away smartly. Approaching the mile post the order was : Aieitclnkolf, Adjutant, and Palisade. Warstcp and Fender were last. Entering the back stretch. Aleltcbikoff jumped away with a lead of five lengths from Adjutant. Warstep bringing up the rear. At the five-furlong mark Aleltchikoff bad a lead of four lengths, and Warstep was moving tip. Three furlongs from home Palisade was within three lengths of Aleitehikoff, with Adjutant third. Alcllchikoff entered the straight three lengths in front of Adjutant, with Palisade next, and Warstep beading the rest. Aleltchikolf. who was ridden right out, won by a length and a-quarter from Adjutant, win? beat Warstep by half a length. Time 2min 9(,sec.
