A Wellington message states that tha Overseas Shipowners' Committee have arranged space for the shipment of 2,650,000 freight carcasses to the end of December. LONDON WOOL MARKET. Messrs Murray, Roberts, and Co. have received the following wool market advices from the London agents, Messrs Sanderson. Murray, and Co. :—Seventh series commences October 26; list closed September 18. Eighth series commences December 7; limit not yet fixed." BETTER AND CHEESE. Messrs A. S. Paterson and Co. have received the following cable from J. and •J. Lonsdale and Co., London: —"Butter market- very firm ; finest advancing owing scarcity. O'heese. steady, 76s to 775." SUGAR SHIPMENTS. A Press Association message advises that the Kurow has sailed from Suva for Auckland with a cargo of 3,602 tons of sugar, and the Waimarino has sailed from the fume port for San Francisco and Vancouver with 1.999 tons of sugar. SUPERPHOSPHATE FROM JAPAN. TIMARU, September 21. The Japanese steamer Shinyo Maru arrived from Mini (Japan) to-day with 7,000 tons of superphosphates for Timaru, Lyttelton, and Napier. She carries a Japanese crew from master down. Shortly after leaving Japan the vessel was badly knocked about by a typhoon, damage being done to the deck fittings, while soma water got below. AUSTRALIAN GOLD YIELD. The gold production continues to show a contraction, according to the returns issued by tho Mines Departments of tha various States, the moderate expansion disclosed in the figures for New South Wales and Queensland being more than counter-balanced by the shrinkage in Victoria.
