Scott, ■ The Religions of Antiquity. ’ „ The suggestion made in the course of the Budget Debate that amusement tickets should contribute to the taxation of the country was dismissed as futile by Sir Joseph Ward. The Canadian Government, we learn, have imposed a tax of one penny per ticket on ail theatrical entertainments in their Dominion. The money raised is to go to the fund for the widows and orphans of soldiers. The authorities supply the tickets through serial numbers, and collect' the funds in that wav.
