Northern Ports (overland). —6.30 a.m. and 10.30 a.m. daily. Late-fee letters only must bear Id in addition to the ordinary postage. Registered letter majls close on hour and newspa|>er printed matter and sample packets, etc., 30 minutes earlier than ordinary letter mails. Christchurch and Intermediate Towns (overland).—6.3Q a.m. and 10.30 a.m. at the C.P.0.; late letters, 7.40 a.m. and 8 a.m. (train);»lo.4s a.m. and 11.14 a.m. (train). Invercargill and Intermediate Towns.— 7,30 a.m. and 3.30 p:ra. at the C.P.0.; late letters, 8 a.m. and 8.30 a.m. (train); 4 p.m. and 4.15 p.xn. (train). For Cromwell, Clyde, Ranfurly, Naseby, and intermediate offices, daily at 6.30 a.m.; lata letters, on guard’s van at 7,25 a.m.

For Australian States, Ceylon, India, China, Japan, Straits Settlements, South Africa, also United Kingdom and Continent of Europe for correspondence specially addressed “ via Suez ” (per Moexajcj, pom Wellington) by north express, at 10 a.m. to-morrow. Late-fea letters, C.P.O. 10.30 a.m., and guard’s van till 11.14 a.m.

For Australian States and South Africa via Bluff and Melbourne (per Wimmera), at 2.30 p.m. on Thursday. Late-fee letters, 3 p.m., and guard's van 4.15 p.m. For Lyttelton and Christchurch (per Palo on a), at 2 p.m. on Friday. Latefee letters, 5 p.m. on board. Mails for Macquarie and Campbell Islands (per Rachel Cohen) will close at Port Chalmers on or about the 25th inst. The next despatch- for the United States of America, Canada, United Kingdom, and Continent of Europe via Vancouver is on Saturday, October 2, due London November 4.
