RETURNING SOLDIERS
WARRIMOO ARRIVES TOMORROW BERTHING AT RATTRAY STREET. i After experiencing an exasperating delay at Wellington the Otago contingent of the wounded and invalided men who returned, last week by the Tahiti will arrive in Dunedin to-morrow morning', the Warrimco, to which the men have been transhipped, besnir expected to berth at Rattray street wharf about 10 o'clock. The local arrangements made previously still hold good. Part of the wharf will be barricaded, and two of the Hm-bor Board sheds will be get apart for the u«j of relatives and those in charge of the motor cam. . It should be distinctly understood thai no one except the defence authorities will be allowed to board the Warrimoo. After tho medical officers and military landing officer have completed their work the men will be taken off, meet their relatives, and then be motored to their homes or taken to the Hospital, as the case may be. There will ,be no civic reception to-morrow, but some function will probably be held next week. Only relatives and those on duty will be admitted to the enclosure, the passes previously issued holding good for tomorrow—two passes to relatives, or in tho event of there being no relative one pass to the next of kin. Similarly only two relatives will be taken in the motor cars, or the next of kin as the case may be. ' A special ambulance train waggon will be in readiness to take any stretcher cases there may be by train to their destinations. The distribution of the cases originally was: Hospital "cases—Dunedin 15, Invercargiil 2. OamaYu 2, Gore 2: out-patients —Dunedin 6, Invercargill 3,' Milton 1 Gore 2. . ' In all there were originally 77 others for home treatment, but it is not definitely known how many of these will arrive by the Warrimoo; as it is uncertain how many have taken advantage of the ferry steamer. The official figures were: 92 men, 3 sisters, and 5 officers; but private advice received this morning gives the number of men aboard as 91, there being-in addition two sisters and two officers. MOTOR CLUB'S ABRIDGEMENTS. The WaTrimoo will arrive at the Lower Rattray street wharf before 10 a.m. tomorrow. All motorists who have offered their cars to convey the sick and wounded soldiers to their homes are requested to assemble in front of the Art Gallery at 9 a.m. sharp. As there are nearly 100 men on the Warrimoo, motorists are earnestly requested to lend their cars for the occasion. [Pee Uniixd Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, September 15. A batch *f wounded from the Tahiti arrived by the ferry steamer this morning and were given an informal reception when they came on to the city. The Rev. R: S. Gray, representing the Otago Patriotic and General Welfare Association, met the Otago men at the station and welcomed them in the name'of the association. Mr Gray also went to Lyttelton and welcomed the men i& hospital on the Warrimoo.
