DUNEDIN HIGHLAND PIPE BAND.
At tlie weekly practice of the above band last evening Pipe-major J. Grant made feeling reference to.the death at the Dardanelles of Sergeant Craig, brother of Corporal Craig, a member of the band who is proceeding to the front with the next contingent. Sergeant Craig was an honorary member of the D.H.P.B. The secretary was instructed to write a letter of condolence from the band to his mother. The band then played a lament to the memory of their late comrade. A circular letter was read asking the band to take up the matter of forming a Highland regiment to go to the front from Xew Zealand. The object had the hearty support of the band, and as a conference is to be held at_Pa]merston Xorth for the purpose, Mr Kilgonr, of that town, was appointed to act as proxy on behalf of the baud. 'The band play at Morilington on Friday evening first.
