CRIMINAL SITTINGS
[Per United Press Association.] GISBORNE, September 13. The Supreme Court sittings were opened this morning, Mr Justice Chapman presiding. Brown Kowere, charged on two counts with an offence against a girl under 16 years of age, was found not guilty. Ethel May Smith, a young married woman, appealed for sentence on charges of forging initials in a rent book, and with pa'jury in a case arising therefrom. She was admitted to probation'. Charles Oscar Neilson, on three charges of breaking and entering, was sentenced to 18 months' imprisonment, the sentences to be concurrent. This concluded the criminal sessions.
