MAGISTRATE'S COURT. (Before H. Y. Widdowson, Esq., S.M.) Judgment by defa.ul tfor plaintiffs was given in the following cases:—Mollisons, Ltd. v. Jas. T. Gibson (Waipukurau, H. 8.), claim £l4 5s lOd, for draperv and clothing, with costs (£2 3s 6d); Mills, Dick, and Co. v. Benjamin Colt-ran (Invercargill), 'claim 13s 6d, for goods, with costs (10s); A. D. Edgar* v. J. C. Smith, claim £2 2s, for dental work done, with costs (ss). Breach of Award.—The Inspector of Awards (Mr I* D. Browett) proceeded against John T. Cunningham (for whom Mr Wilkinson appeared) and Alfred Baker, hairdressers, of Dunedin, claiming £lO for a breach of the Dunedin Hairdressers' Assistants' award, in which they worked their employees on June 25 (Prince of Wales's Birthday).—lt was urged for the defendants, who pleaded guilty, that the offence was not a deliberate, one, both employers and assistants having overlooked the fact that that day was Prince of.
