SATURDAY'S HARRIERS

The weather was ideal for a field day. A number of athletic events were decided on different grounds. CAVERSHAM CLUB. The Caversham Harrier and Amateur Athletic Club held a series of field events at Bathgate Park, where many close finishes were registered. Beatson, 8 points, 1; G. Crimp, W. Grear, Dawson, 5 points (equal), 2. DUNEDIN ANGLICAN. The Dunedin Anglican Harriers held their annual sports meeting and club championship at Wingatui on Saturday. Owing to want of rain the track proved rather hard. Results : 220 yds Handicap.—Elsom, syds, 1 ; Alloo, 3yds, 2; Dunn, scr, 5. Time, 25 l-ssec. Half-mile Handicap.—M'Millan, 15yds, 1; Hill, 30yds, 2; Elsom, 20yds, 3. Time, 2min 19 l-ssec. Broad Jump.—Alloo, lfb 6in, 1; Notman, scr, 2; Elsom, 6in, 3. • Distance, 18ft 9^in.' Three-mile Championship.—Notman 1, M'Millan 2, Hill 3, Time, 18min 52sec. The Sealed Handicap was won by W. R. Hill. Time, 18min 47sec. ST. JOSEPH'S. St. Joseph's Harriers held their Threemile Cross-country Handicap Race at St. Clair. Starting "behind Cargill's Castle, the trail led past the gold links in a south-westerly direction towards Mr Hamilton's property; then, turning to the north, some fine harrier country was crossed, till Mr Sidey's residence was reached. From here the, course led down the hill to St. Clair car terminus via St. Clair Park. The result was :—C. Whelan (2min,3osec), actual time 20min 53sec, 1; G. Pedofsky (lmin 30sec), actual time 20min 27sec, 2; M. Kennelly (3min), actual time 23min 20sec, 3; C. Moloney (50sec), actual time 21min 30sec, 4; T. Roughan (40sec), actual time 21min23sec, The Dunedin and Pacific Harriers indulged in a friendly game of football at Tahuna Park on Saturday. Pacific won by 27 points to 6. _ The_ Cargill Road Methodist Harriers (m skirts) played a hockey match against the Konini ladies. The game resulted in a win for the ladies by 5 goals to 3. The South Dunedin*Presbyterian Harriers held their weeklv run on Saturday from the George Street School. The trail led to the Reservoir and the falls.
