MINOR BOMBARDMENT* MITYLENE, September 12. (Received September 15, at 2.5 p.m.) A British, gunboat yesterday bombarded Jio Turkish camps at AivaJi Asia Minor) An aeroplane simultaneously bombed and destroyed tha barracks, a number of soldiers being killed. SAMOAN GARRISON. THE RETURNING PARTY. [Pek United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, September 13. IJie ofheer in command of the'party to return from Samoa is Captain C. H. Matthews, ot the Garrison Artillery adjutant to the Samoan Relief Force • the other officers are Captains A. W Izard of Wellington, and H. G. Hock' (Auckland). Lieutenant C. Mackie (Auckland) and Lieutenant F. H. Anderson Wellington). Of these Captain Matthews, Capttiin izaid, and Lieutenant Anderson nre recalled for duty. . Captain Monk and Lieutenant Mackie are invalided. The returning non com. officers and men are; Sergeant-major Copeland (Medical Corps.' Wellington), recalled for duty; Sergeants R. Croucher (Auckland), invalided; *O. B. Bha , lecahed for duty; Corporals A. Colston, C. E. R. Kelly, Gardiner, Privates 1 1 . W . Bezar, F. E. Bailey ,1. R. Bin ns, D. 3V . Devorill, C. Dickinson, J. Welinsley, J. Erick, G. H. Foote, W Lomax. A. Macrae, S. 3larezi, C. C, Neville, .1. G. Scrimgoonr, E. Wallace W. F. .Morris, C. O’Connell. P. L. Price’ G. 31. Keefie. and 31. J. Dunne. Of the returning soldiers Lieutenant Anderson Sergeant-major Copeland, and Sergeants Day and Croucher left with the acfvance party, but the other officers and men were all members of the Relief Force, which went to Samoa in April.
