The annual report of- the Victorian Prisons Department for 1914 shows a decrease of 221. prison admi&sions. (Received September 11, at 8.5 a.mj In connection, with their purchases of wheat from the Victorian Government, tlie millers are threatened with a loss of £B,OOO on offal left on their hands when the prices of bran and pollard were reduced. The millowners notified the State Government of ■ their intention to close down their mills, because the Government would not stand in on tbeir loss. The-Minister of Agriculture replied that unless the millers continued grinding wheat the Government would seize the two largest mills and supply the people with Hour. The millers thereupon gave way. QUEENSLAND PRICES. BRISBANE, September 11.
